The 5-Step Sign-Up Process

  1. Check Eligibility: Log in to your HMRC portal to confirm your turnover from the 2024/25 tax year exceeds the mandate threshold.
  2. Select Your Software: Download and set up Kletta. Ensure it is fully updated for the 2026/27 tax year requirements.
  3. Initiate Sign-Up on GOV.UK: Visit the official "Sign up for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax" page.
  4. Confirm Business Details: HMRC will ask you to confirm your trade name, address, and nature of business.
  5. Authorise Software: This is the final and most important step. You must give your software permission to interact with HMRC. This creates the "Digital Link" required for your quarterly updates.
